1st Annual Kickoff for the Cure

May 5, 2018: The inaugural MCAMF Flag Football Tournament was held at Carl Sandburg Middle School to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and MCAMF’s service projects for local children undergoing cancer treatment. The youth teams were comprised of Mason’s friends and the winning youth team played the championship game against the adult team led by Mason’s dad. The champs – Mason’s team!

Thanks to Blaize and Sean for coming up with this wonderful event, to their families for helping them pull it off, and the Sandburg administrators for the use of the field. All event and t-shirt proceeds went to the Foundation’s research fund.

A Season of Caring for Children in St. Christopher’s Oncology

December 2017: In MCAMF’s first community service project, Mason’s friends went shopping for gifts to brighten the days for children and teens in the Oncology Unit at St. Chris. Partnering with Heather Evans of Thirty-One, we spent an afternoon making age-appropriate backpacks filled with fun items and snacks for each of the children who would be receiving chemotherapy during the holiday season. Mason talked about going back to the unit where he was treated and recovered from his surgery to make the other kids there feel better. We will be doing that each year – for him and for them – in his honor.

If you would like to donate items or participate in future service projects to make the treatment experience a little brighter for local pediatric cancer patients, please sign up below and we will contact you for upcoming service opportunities.
